The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled right handed starting pitcher Chad Jenkins from Double-A New Hampshire and purchased the contract of right handed pitcher Chin-Ming Wang from Triple-A Buffalo.

Jenkins will provide the Blue Jays with depth in the bullpen behind Chien-Ming Wang during today’s game.

The 25 year old pitcher was optioned to New Hampshire to start the 2013 season where he played just one game after coming back from an injury before making three starts for the Blue Jays in May. He was optioned to Double-A Buffalo in early June but re-injured his shoulder after a month.

Chien-Ming Wang who was optioned from Triple-A Buffalo will get the start tonight for the Blue Jays after Aaron Loup was placed on their paternity list. He returns to the Blue Jays with a 3.60 ERA over 15 innings with the Jays this season.

With Wang being called up, Brad Lincoln was sent back down to Triple-A Buffalo. Lincoln has only pitched 2.2 innings of work during the last seven days, giving up seven hits and four earned runs with a 13.50 ERA.

Blue Jays transferred infielder Maicer Izturis from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. It clears a spot for Wang to be placed on the 40 man roster. Izturis was placed on the disabled list on Thursday and is now no longer a candidate to return to the team this season.
