While I’ve never been to Cowboys Stadium (uh, AT&T Stadium now – do I really have to call it that?!) to see the majestic and famed scoreboard in person, I can say this – it looks pretty awesome on television.

I can only imagine what it looks like in person, though, I’m guessing right now it has a few less fans in the Dallas area – especially on the Cowboys coaching staff.

See, during the Cowboys’ third preseason (thankfully) game last night, Cowboy punter Chris Jones booted a monstrosity of a punt which was so high, it clipped the scoreboard.

Laughs all around, right?

So after a mini pow-wow by the officials, the referees lined everybody up again to re-punt, which is exactly what they did. Only problem? Cincinnati Bengals return man Brandon Tate took off with it, taking it the distance for a touchdown.

Hopefully that makes it into next week’s episode of Hard Knocks because it was pretty hilarious.

Thankfully, it was just a preseason game but could you imagine what kind of grief that would have caused if that had happened in say Week 15 in a playoff race?
