Pittsburgh Steelers first round pick Jarvis Jones was injured late in the team’s third preseason game on Saturday night on a play that didn’t even count. Jones caught a deflected pass to secure the interception, but a phantom pass interference call wiped out the play.

Unfortunately for the Steelers and Jones, he suffered a chest injury on the play and was unable to return.

It got even worse.

The team announced after the game that Jones would be taken to the hospital for “further evaluations.” He was reportedly taken from the stadium on a stretcher, but the team does appear confident that he will be okay.

Jones has been all over the field for the Steelers during the preseason as he shows why the team used a first round pick to select him. From generating quarterback pressure, to forcing fumbles to catching deflected passes for interceptions, Jones has been doing it all and appears to have the makings of a star.
