Buffalo Bills to start Jeff Tuel at quarterback
By Mike Dyce
The Buffalo Bills had a quarterback competition in training camp between NFL veteran Kevin Kolb and first round draft pick E.J. Manuel. Neither of the two will be the starting quarterback on opening day when the Buffalo Bills square off with the New England Patriots.
Starting Jeff Tuel at quarterback isn’t the plan for the season, just the opener. Quarterback E.J. Manuel is recovering from a knee scope and there is no guarantee that he will be ready in time for the season opener.
The Buffalo Bills appear to not be entirely confident in Tuel’s abilities and recently brought in Matt Leinart and Thaddeus Lewis.
The Bills are trying to be cautious with Manuel, the man they think is their franchise quarterback. In the mean time, running back C.J. Spiller could get a lot of carries and touches.
