The Denver Broncos haven’t been thrilled with either running back options, Montee Ball or Ronnie Hillman, in the preseason. The fumbles in the past two preseason games have seemingly given Montee Ball the edge over teammate Ronnie Hillman.

Head coach John Fox didn’t find it as newsworthy as others do and downplayed the move while channeling his inner Allen Iverson.

“It’s just practice, I wouldn’t read too much into anything,” Fox said, via the Denver Post. “We’re evaluating everybody regardless of who gets what reps at what number. So, he’s a guy that we want to get some touches and we’ll go from there.”

Despite the move in practice, Hillman is still listed as the starter on the Broncos depth chart. Ball is a second round pick out of Wisconsin who set multiple records and was a touchdown machine while starting there. The Broncos could be hoping that he can rekindle some of that magic.
