Stephon Gilmore injury: Bills lose star CB for 8 weeks or more
By Josh Sanchez
The Buffalo Bills received some bad news on Monday morning when it was announced that star cornerback Stephon Gilmore would miss at least half of the season with an injury. The news broke shortly after the team’s roster cuts, but Gilmore’s injury overshadowed any of the other news.
The injury is being described as a “fractured hand” and Gilmore is expected to miss eight weeks.
It is obviously a devastating blow to the team’s defensive unit.
Gilmore is one of the most talented players on the Bills roster and on his way to being recognized as one of the top cornerbacks in the league. The unfortunate setback will just put a hold on those talks as Gilmore recovers and hopes to come back stronger than ever.
It’s a tough break for the young corner.
Running back C.J. Spiller was also absent from practice, but that is likely due to personal reasons after his step-grandfather, who played a large part in raising him, killed multiple people including himself over the weekend.
