The New England Patriots are looking to fill a huge hole in their offensive attack left by wide receiver Wes Welker, who signed with the Denver Broncos this offseason. Former St. Louis Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola is the guy they think can step up. Amendola however has a history of injury plagued seasons and missed all of last week’s practice with an undisclosed injury, including the third preseason game.

The injury is believed to be to his ankle of foot but fortunately for the Patriots not considered serious enough to affect his availability for the September 8th season opener against the Buffalo Bills.

“I felt good today,” Amendola said after practice, via ESPN Boston. “Everybody was flying around, everybody looked good. Coming off a couple days off, we were ready to get back at it. So it was a good day.”

The time off is not a concern for Amendola too.

“I’m not concerned. We’ve had a lot of good reps this camp so far and we’re going to continue to work and continue to get better.”
