NFL preseason games really don’t mean a whole lot, but to rookies and players looking to make a roster they mean the world. Because of that, the players looking to make their mark can get a little over emotional and silly at times, which is exactly what happened to Houston Texans cornerback A.J. Bouye who tried to do his best Terrell Owens impersonation by celebrating on the Dallas Cowboys star.

The problem with Bouye’s celebration is that he was taunting the Cowboys after an interception and twelve-yard return in the preseason finale. Sure, that may be exciting, but that is not the time to go over the top.

At least score a touchdown before you do that, young man.

Of course, Bouye was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct.

To be fair to Bouye, he did apologize for his actions after the game and knew that his emotions had gotten out of hand.

“I wasn’t thinking, I was being stupid,” Bouye said, via ESPNDallas.com. “It was disrespectful for me to do it, for the team and the other team. I wasn’t thinking. … They don’t teach us to do that. For me to even do that was disrespectful.”

There is your learning lesson.

If you’re going to celebrate on the Cowboys star, make sure to do so after scoring a touchdown in a regular season game. Or you could just avoid doing so at all.
