Everyone seems to believe that Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III will be the team’s starter in Week One of the regular season and Griffin made that seem all but guaranteed late Thursday night when he sent out a tweet that got the fans all excited.

According to Griffin, he has been medically cleared to return to football.

Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan confirmed that Griffin was medically cleared, but he did not comment on whether or not his star quarterback will be under center to start the new season.

“I did talk to Dr. Andrews. He did talk to Robert and after talking to him he did clear Robert to play,” Shanahan said, via CSN Washington.

Griffin seems to have all of the confidence in the world that he is ready to go and that he is 100 percent, so when you add the fact that he has been cleared by one of the most renowned surgeons in the country, it is hard to imagine a scenario where Shanahan keeps his quarterback on the bench.
