The Buffalo Bills apparently just can’t quit quarterback Thaddeus Lewis.

On Friday, Lewis was reportedly informed he would be cut by the Bills when the 53-man roster was announced on Saturday.

Then the Bills reportedly informed Lewis that he would not be cut, only to cut him the following morning.

But as if that merry-go-round wasn’t enough, now Lewis has been re-signed by the Bills and will serve as an emergency backup behind both E.J. Manuel and Jeff Tuel.

However, being that Lewis was cut, it was essentially the Bills’ way of a backdoor agreement to keep Lewis on the practice squad in case the whole Jeff Tuel experiment blows up.

Ah yes, the life of a third or fourth string quarterback – being cut, to not being cut, to being cut, to being re-signed, all in the span of a weekend.

Unlike most practice roster quarterbacks, it’s very possible Lewis will not only be activated at some point for a game this season, but he might even see the field – especially if Manuel has health issues at any point.
