The Baltimore Ravens have had more than their fair share of struggles at tight end this preseason. They lost Dennis Pitta for the season with an injury and then Ed Dickson suffered a hamstring injury.

From the Baltimore Sun:

"“Counted on as starter with Dennis Pitta sidelined, Dickson is a big, fast target over the middle who’s coming off partially torn hamstring.”"

“He’s running well, he’s catching the ball well, he looks just as explosive as he did a few weeks ago before he was injured,” OC Jim Caldwell.

Dennis Pitta is headed to the short-term injured reserve list and newly acquired tight end Dallas Clark will help out on passing downs.

“Suffered gruesome hip injury that required surgery, team hasn’t ruled him out yet for potential late-season return,” the Sun wrote about Dennis Pitta.

“Proven pass-catching tight end could provide third-down, chain-moving presence for Joe Flacco,” the Sun wrote about Dallas Clark.

If Ed Dickson could play some in Thursday’s season opener that would greatly help out the Ravens and their depth at the position.
