Champ Bailey returns to practice for Denver Broncos

Denver Broncos veteran cornerback Champ Bailey has been nursing a sprained foot that has caused him to sport a walking boot and some crutches, but he is finally working towards a return to the field and we could see Bailey back on the field as soon as Thursday.

Bailey returned to practice on Sunday afternoon, which is a positive sign, and everyone was happy to see him back out on the field.

While everyone in the organization is excited to have Bailey back on the practice field, defensive tackle Kevin Vickerson was sure to speak up and let everyone know what Bailey’s return could mean for the team.

“It’s excellent,” Vickerson said, via the Denver Post. “Seeing him walking is knowing that he’s close to getting healed, so it’s all the [better] for this defense for him to come back and help.”

There are still some questions about whether or not Bailey will take the field for the team’s season-opener against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night, but the good news is that he seems to be on track to return by Week 2 of the regular season at the latest.
