Dallas Cowboys offensive tackle Tyron Smith knows what it is like to come in to the NFL with the pressure of being a first-round pick and because of that he has been very impressed with rookie offensive lineman Travis Frederick throughout camp and the preseason.
Smith was recently on the Elf & Slater on KRLD-FM when he opened up about the rookie interior lineman and had some high praise for the player that is just a few months in to his NFL career.
Specifically, Smith is impressed with the speed in which Frederick has been able to pick things up and fit right in.
“He’s had a big impact on our team. He’s a real smart guy. He’s picking things up quicker than I ever expected,” Smith said, via the Dallas Morning News. “I’m really proud of him. I had a hard time coming in, and it seems like he’s picking it up quicker than I did.”
One of the hardest things to do as a rookie is pick up the game speed of the NFL, so for Frederick to be making a positive impression early in his career is nothing but good news for the Cowboys as they look to finally solidify their line.
