The Buffalo Bills decided to cut ties with undrafted free agent wide receiver Da’Rick Rogers over the weekend despite his immense talent that was worthy of a first round pick because of his immaturity and slow progression throughout the team’s camp.
While Rogers was cut, we all knew that he would get another chance to prove himself on the NFL field because his talent would be too much for any team to pass up.
According to Tom Pelissero of USA Today, the Indianapolis Colts have decided to give Rogers that shot by signing him to the team’s practice squad.
For the Colts, it is a low-risk move that could pay off a big reward to the team if he is finally able to get himself under control.
No one will deny Rogers’ talent — he was even one of the top wide receivers at Tennessee despite playing alongside Cordarrelle Patterson and Justin Hunter — but he needs to show that he can mature and handle the pressure that will come from being an every day player at the top level of the sport.
