The Oakland Raiders signed veteran tackle Tony Pashos, the team announced on their official website Monday. In order to create the roster space to sign Pashos, the Raiders cut  Alex Barron.

Pashos is a ten year veteran who has papered in 92 games (70 starts) over his career for the Baltimore Ravens, Jacksonville Jaguars, San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns and the Washington Redskins. Pashos was released by the Redskins during their final preseason cuts.

Pashos will serve as a backup to starting left tackle Menelik Watson, who was a 2nd round pick (42nd overall) by the Raiders in the 2013 draft. Four-year veteran Jared Veldheer was expected to start for the Raiders this season, but a partially torn left triceps will keep him out for part of the season.
