New England Patriots tight end Zach Sudfeld was generating some buzz during training camp and he showed off his skills during the preseason before being one of the top fantasy football sleepers in football. For those who picked up the tight end who will be serving as Rob Gronkowski’s replacement, you can expect Sudfeld to take between 30 and 40 reps throughout the season-opener against the Buffalo Bills.

That number would be roughly half of the Patriots snaps.

Make no mistake about it, Sudfeld will be a solid player, but he is no Gronk. If he was as well-rounded as the star tight end, he would see much more reps and have more opportunities to produce. However, as it currently stands, Sudfeld could be limited if he is unable to stay on the field for a bulk of the team’s reps.

Sudfeld was also benched during the preseason for fumbling the ball, so he will need to improve his ball security if he wants to have the impact fantasy owners and the Patriots are hoping for.
