Since showing plenty of promise during his first year in the league as a rookie out of Western Michigan, Detroit Lions safety Louis Delmas is eager to get back on the field and show the world that he is finally 100 percent and ready to get back to his old ways.

Delmas has been struggling with a bad knee since last year, but he says that he is feeling young again and can’t wait to begin the season and show off how his restructured knee is feeling.

“To be honest with you, a couple weeks ago I didn’t expect it to be as good as it is now, but my knee is great right now,” Delmas said, via Josh Katzenstein of theDetroit News. “I’m feeling very confident about it. I feel like it’s my rookie year again. About two weeks ago I finally woke up with no pain — after icing it of course — but I finally woke up with no pain and it was very stable.”

Delmas is saying all of the right things, but we will still need to see him perform on the field before thinking this is all just talk.

The Lions defensive backfield has been working hard to improve and they would certainly get a boost with a healthy Delmas moving forward.
