Well another professional athlete is in the news today when it comes to running into trouble with the law.

According to TMZ.com, Gilbert Arenas has been charged with transporting more than 100 pounds of dangerous fireworks. Yes you read that right, fireworks. What is going on with professional athletes these days? Seriously?

The incident occurred back in June after he was pulled over for speeding. The police found a trunk load of fireworks in his trunk after they searched his car. Arenas could be facing up to a year in jail and up to $10,000 in fines.

His next court appearance is scheduled to be next month, which will more than likely be overshadowed by Aaron Hernandez and his court date.

His six year, $111 million deal from 2008 is pretty much a distant memory for the rest of us and how his NBA career could very well be in jeopardy.

I mean knowing his history you would think it would be firearms but, fireworks? There needs to be a study on the brains of professional athletes to see what goes on in their heads. It’s like they think they are untouchable because they have all this money and became a house hold name.

Sorry, sometimes the world just doesn’t work like that. All Gilbert Arenas has to blame for this, is himself.

Just like every other athlete who continues to put themselves in stupid situations.
