According to Scott Bair on Twitter, Oakland Raiders offensive tackle Menelik Watson was absent from Thursday’s practice.

Fellow writer Bryant West reported that the absent player from today”s practice injured his knee during yesterday’s. Which could be a reason why he missed today, but right now there is no word why he missed today’s practice.

So until we find out, it shall remain a mystery. But even if you have an injury that hasn’t required major surgery, you should at least stand on the sidelines and watch your team practice. At least show up and support your team as they prepare for the opening game on Sunday.

Watson never played left tackle at any level of football and missed majority of training camp with a calf injury and now appears to be doubtful for Sunday’s opener..

His absence should give right tackle Khalif Barnes an opportunity to start at left tackle and push Tony Pashos into the starting lineup.
