The Oakland Raiders may have been wrong about fourth-round pick Tyler Wilson, but they were very very right about undrafted free agent Matt McGloin who has done nothing but impress the organization during offseason workouts and training camp.

In fact, there is some belief that members at the top of the Raiders organization prefer McGloin as the starter over Terrelle Pryor, who has emerged as the favorite for the job.

According to NFL.com’s Michael Silver, there is “a lot of skepticism” about Pryor as the team’s starter.

There is no doubt that Pryor has the most athleticism out of any of the team’s signal-callers, but he does struggle at time with ball placement, which is something that McGloin has shined with.

Silver went on to add that “there are voices in the organization who believe McGloin gives the Raiders the best chance to win.”

Many expect that Pryor is going to start the season for Oakland, but if he struggles early it will be interesting to see if the team ends up turning to McGloin. This is obviously bad news for Matt Flynn, who has faded in to irrelevance with his poor performance.
