The 2013-14 NFL season began with a rematch of the AFC divisional round of the playoffs between the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos. Unfortunately for the Ravens, their season got off on the wrong foot thanks to a stunning seven-touchdown performance from Peyton Manning.

Baltimore dropped the game, 49-27, but the team isn’t worried just yet.

Ravens defender Terrell Suggs spoke to the media after the game and let us all know that he believes the Ravens will rebound and find themselves facing off against the Broncos once again in the playoffs.

“The great thing is it’s Week 1,” Suggs said, via USA TODAY Sports’ Tom Pelissero. “It’s one game. But I guarantee they will see us again. Will we go in the tank? Is the whole season down the drain? No. It’s one game. It’s one game. All this game tells us — we’re not going to go 16-0. And I think the whole world knew that going in.

“Who do y’all think we lined up against? This team — what’d they go, 13-3 last year? They’ve got the exact same team, with another weapon (Welker). Come on now. No panic.”

It’s easy for the Ravens to look at the long season ahead and not be concerned about one loss, but their defense’s inability to get off the field is what should concern them. Their secondary was torched and the Ravens rolled all night long.

If they want to make it back to the postseason, this is a team that will need to find a way to click after losing all of their leadership a season ago.
