While there are more scary looking injuries in the NFL, few are more dangerous than helmet to helmet hits.

Thankfully, it looks like both Vontaze Burfict of the Cincinnati Bengals and Matt Forte of the Chicago Bears are going to be okay after what could have been a devastating situation.

Forte, who is one of the best pass catching running backs in the league was out on a route when Jay Cutler noticed he was open – sort of. The strong armed Cutler threw a seed to Forte, who knew he was going to get hit as Bengals were closing in on him.

Forte dropped the pass, but it wasn’t soon enough to stop the momentum of Burfict who went helmet to helmet in a nasty looking hit.

Definitely going to be a nice fine sent to Burfict this week for that hit. You couldn’t get any more crown on crown action if you placed the two lids together.

Just glad nobody is feeling any serious ramifications from the hit – at least not right now.
