The best games are the games a that are decided in the last seconds. That’s what we had here with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers losing to the New York Jets 17-18.

I watched the Jets march down the field and get into FG position. However, and unfortunately, the Bucs hurt themselves with Levonte David getting called for unnecessary roughness. The resulting penalty pushed the Jets into field goal position and they got the kick through with just two seconds left to play.

The Bucs actually did some fancy hand-offs on their last play that put a scare into the final outcome of the game but the Jets held on to win.

While David’s poor play will be remembered and probably blamed by many for the loss, the Bucs lost this game for many reasons. For one, there was a total of 13 penalties which resulted in the Jets getting 102 yards. That’s a whole football field.

The Bucs’ defense was okay, as they allowed only one TD, while giving up three FG’s. From what I hear, the Bucs have constant close game problems. On the other end, the Jets are lucky to get this one. Not many players will make that silly mistake like David did.

All in all, it was a really good game. Most of the games today have been good. Keep it here at FanSided for more coverage on opening day!
