The Cincinnati Reds and Los Angeles Dodgers are currently playing tonight with the Reds trying to go for a series sweep of the red hot Dodgers. Despite their latest 3 game losing streak the dodgers still remain the hottest team in the major leagues. The Dodgers are 36-11 since the All-Star break and that after a struggling 30-42 start, which is a remarkable turn around.

The starting pitcher tonight for the Blue is Clayton Kershaw who enters tonight’s game with a 1.89 ERA, which is the best in the majors thus far. But the star pitcher is coming off his worse performance where he allowed 5 runs in his last outing and that is more runs than he has allowed all season long.

On the other side the Reds are chasing closely behind in the standings for the playoffs, although both teams seem they will make it in, should the Reds get the sweep tonight it could very well begin to send the Dodgers in the other direction.

Currently in the bottom of the 7th inning the game is tied at 2, and the Dodgers look to get back to their winning ways. Kershaw thru 6 innings and up until tonight had not allowed a HR since July 21 prior to tonight, 8 straight starts without one. It’s the first time he’s allowed multiple HR to left-handed batters in a game since May 2, 2012. That was also the last time he allowed 2 HR verses the same left-hander in a game in Carlos Gonzales.
