When Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro center Maurkice Pouncey went down within the first five minutes of the game with a leg injury, the cart was called on to the field and it didn’t look good. Pouncey was unable to put any weight on his leg that was cut out from under him by teammate David DeCastro, and now we know that the team is fearing for the worse.

According to reports, there are some concerns that the Steelers may have lost Pouncey to the season with a torn ACL.

From NFL.com:

"NFL Media’s Aditi Kinkhabwala reported that Pouncey was being taken to a hospital Sunday. One Steelers official told Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that Pouncey was “not good.” Bouchette added that the injury might be an ACL, and Pouncey was having an MRI done."

Without Pouncey in the line up, 2012 seventh-round pick Kelvin Beachum steps in to the line up.

It’s unfortunate for Pouncey to start his year with a devastating injury, but that is part of the way the NFL world turns.
