Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson is coming off an NFL record season. Of course one of the ultimate honors is being used in a this is SportsCenter commercial. This might be my new favorite of all time.
Calvin Johnson is leaning up against a cubicle chatting up with Stuart Scott by the water cooler complaining about co-workers, you know, your average work day. Suddenly a supervisor calls Stuart’s name from around the corner, and Calvin quickly tells Scott that he was never there.
The supervisor comes around the corner, cue up some transformers sound effects and the camera pans pack to Scott standing next to a Clavin Johnson themed vending machine.
The supervisor laments that he can’t find Johnson who owes him a report and Scott looks confused by it. The camera follows the supervisor as he walks off and when it is back Johnson is back and the machine is gone.
The best part of the commercial is that it is all one continuous shot, and some fancy special effects helped create an awesome illusion. The side of the vending machine even pictures a folded up Calvin Johnson.
This is definitely better than the recent Calvin Johnson commercial with Diddy.
