After paying Calvin Johnson and Matt Stafford, the Detroit Lions appear to be saving money wherever they can, including at the concession stand.

A fan who was at yesterday’s Lions game noticed something strange about his soda cup – it was from last season.

The cup, which features an image of Stafford could easily pass off as just another, normal cup, if it wasn’t for the schedule on the bottom which showed the Lions playing the Minnesota Vikings on November 11th.

Only problem? November 11th is a Monday and the Lions have a game, in Chicago against the Bears on November 10th.

Oops.

Dan Robinson noticed the oddity during the game and passed the image along to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, who posted the picture for all to see.

Now, it’s very possible the Lions don’t have much interaction with the concession stand situation considering they are handled by outside companies, though, I’d assume they’d have control over the types of souvenir cups being handed out. If not, they may want to take control.
