The San Francisco 49ers traded for Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Anquan Boldin in the offseason and it seemed to pay off. Boldin helped lead the 49ers to a 34-28 victory over the Green Bay Packers behind Boldin’s big night. He caught 13 passes for 208 yards and one touchdown.

“Well, he cost us a draft choice,” head coach Jim Harbaugh said, “and we’re paying him a lot of money. But he’s worth every penny.”

“Every. Penny.”

High praise from the head coach. Boldin wasn’t quite as quick to play the hero and wasn’t surprised by the big night.

“I’m a pro. This is my job.”

“I expected to play well, because we’d prepared all offseason for what Green Bay was going to do,” Boldin said. “Any time Kap throws the ball, I want to make sure it’s completions.”

The 49ers are paying Boldin $6 million this year and the draft pick they gave up was a sixth-round draft pick. So far the decision seems to be worth it and the 49ers don’t seem to be too worried about the injuries at wide receiver any more.
