Reggie Bush banged up in the Detroit Lions opener
By Mike Dyce
The Detroit Lions brought in Reggie Bush to bolster their running game. They already have a elite wide receiver, arguably the best in the league, and a more than capable quarterback in Matthew Stafford. The Lions are now very happy they brought in Bush after he helped them get off to a 1-0 start.
Bush touched the ball 25 times in his debut and piled up 191 all-purpose yards, 90 on the ground and 101 yards receiving. The Lions beat the Vikings 34-24. Unfortunately he picked up a couple of injuries along the way hurting his groin in the first quarter and suffering a dislocated thumb while trying to catch a pass.
“It was facing the wrong direction,” Bush said, via Justin Rogers of MLive.com. ”Thankfully I was able to just tape it up and carry the ball in my right hand.”
That would have you thinking he was banged up
Bush said to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio after the game, “I’m not banged up.”
“It will probably start killing me in a little bit, once everything wears off,” Bush said according to MLive.com.
Despite the injuries he toughed it out anyways.
“That’s what those guys do,” head coach Jim Schwartz said. “No guy is going to come out because of a little thing like that.”
