Things aren’t looking good for New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola who is reportedly ‘almost certain’ to miss their game against the New York Jets this Thursday.

The short turnaround from Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills to this coming Thursday’s against the Jets hasn’t given Amendola much time to recover and although he attempted to practice through the pain, he simply wasn’t able to get through it and according to Ian Rapoport, he’s almost a certain scratch:

"Amendola battled through a groin injury, leaving and returning. He’s almost certain to miss Thursday. Hurts with Vereen out, Sudfeld ailing."

As Rapoport mentions, the Patriots are pretty banged up on offense and the loss of Amendola is a hefty blow.

Assuming he can’t go, Julian Edelman will replace him in the starting lineup and figures to be a heavy factor in the Patriots’ pass game, alongside Kenbrell Thompkins. Both would make excellent fantasy plays.

His status for Week Three is currently unknown.
