According to ESPN Boston, New England Patriots starting quarterback Tom Brady gave running back Stevan Ridley a vote of confidence today.

"“I know Stevan is a very mentally tough kid. I love having him back there. I love giving the ball to him and watching him run. We fumbled a snap on the goal-line. I threw an interception; you have to be able to bounce back from those things. Football is not necessarily a game of perfect. It’s just that you try to limit what your bad plays are, so they’re not really bad plays, or really critical plays in the game.” Tom Brady said in an interview with ESPN Boston."

It’s usually a veterans job to back up the rest of his players on his team. With a young running back like Ridley, something like this coming from a guy like Tom Brady could be a fire starter.

With Ridley benched on Sunday, he mill most likely be spending time as the number two running back in Thursday nights game against the New York Jets.
