When Ahmad Bradshaw was signed by the Indianapolis Colts it was thought that he had a edge over current running back Vick Ballard because he was better at blocking. That might not be the case anymore after an “unbelievable” game for Vick Ballard and blitz pick ups.

Chuck Pagano says that Ballard was 6 for 6 in blitz pick up situations against the Oakland Raiders and called it “unbelievable” Ballard got 14 touches in the game while Ahmad Bradshaw played 15 snaps but only got 8 touches.

Ballard carried the ball 13 times for 63 yards and Bradshaw carried the ball 7 times for 26 yards and caught one pass for 7 yards.

If Bradshaw is to climb the depth chart he might need more time, Ballard’s impressive performance will certainly keep him ahead of Bradshaw barring some kind on injury. The season is in Ballard’s hand as he has emerged as the Colts’ lead back in their committee approach.
