Daryl Richardson gets day off from St. Louis Rams coaching staff

St. Louis Rams starting running back Daryl Richardson fell just short of 100 yards in the team’s season-opener against the division rival Arizona Cardinals, and head coach Jeff Fisher is rewarding him for his performance by giving him the day off at Wednesday’s practice.

Don’t be concerned though, Rams fans. Richardson will be back on the field for tomorrow’s practice and he will be a full go for the team’s game in Week Two on Sunday.

From Nick Wagoner of ESPN’s NFL Nation:

Despite the time off in practice, Richardson will still be the Rams workhorse back in Week Two when they take on the Atlanta Falcons.

The hope is to keep Richardson fresh and ensure that he is fully healthy and ready to go as St. Louis takes on a very tough challenge. Make sure that he is in your fantasy football line ups.

The box score doesn’t tell the story, he made the most of what he had and converted key first downs plus recovered that game saving fumble… but he wasn’t given the day off as any type of reward, I’m fairly certain he has a minor toe/foot injury. Don’t believe it to be major but something to consider.

Rams gave him a break to rest his foot. Richardson is very effective as a check down receiver. The return of Isaiah Pead would give them an addition player to go to in a similar role as Richardson. My hope is that Pead would step up and improve his play otherwise he might end up in a trading block or getting released.

      Whoah there cesarnoel! Pead
is on your Shit list (I know) but we are only going into
week 2.Cut him a little slack.
I know he has fumbled &
      under performed but he is
our FASTEST RB just in front
of Richardson. I also hope he
      steps up against the Falcons.
      Let’s see what happens Sun.
      GO RAMS >>>>>>>>>>>>>> !
