Indianapolis Colts star Andrew Luck is arguably the best young quarterback in the NFL and a key part of the team’s success moving forward, so when he takes big hits the team is unhappy with their pressure.

In hopes of keeping Luck healthy, Colts owner Jim Irsay has begun to demand better protection for his franchise signal-caller from all of the players on the team and the coaching staff.

Irsay took to Twitter to put out the call for improvement.

“Raider/Colts– we gotta protect #12 better..and that includes more than just OL…it’s backs,TE’s,coaches on blitz pick ups..I DEMAND better,” Irsay wrote.

It goes without saying that the team needs to keep their quarterback off of his back, but Irsay making a public comment should serve as a wake up call to the entire roster.

The last thing you want to do is be the man that misses a block that springs a defender free to crush and potentially injure your most important player.

Obviously, the Raiders have one of the least impressive rosters in the league and they were still able to get pressure, so the rest of the team needs to step their game up in a big way.
