Santonio Holmes says he “survived” week 1 and is “OK”

New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes was recovering from a Lisfranc injury and missed a lot of the offseason and preseason. He did play for the Jets in the season opener despite preseason reports that he might miss the beginning part of the season. Holmes was on the field for 45 out of 77 offensive snaps.
“That’s probably the biggest thing I can say right now, is that I survived and got through it OK,” Holmes said, via the New York Daily News. “No injuries, so pretty good.”
Holmes was barely a factor having one catch for 13 yards while being targeted 3 times. That could’ve been more of a result of former Jets and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Darrelle Revis covering him.
Geno Smith was wise to stay away from Revis Island and spread the ball around elsewhere. Smith was effective completing 24 of 38 passes for 256 yards and a touchdown. Smith also threw one interception but for the most part impressed in his regular season debut, a game no where close to the 3 interception fiasco in the third preseason game.
