Los Angeles Lakers’ Pau Gasol shaves beard after losing bet with brother Marc Gasol

A few months ago, Pau Gasol of the Los Angeles Lakers made a bet with his brother, Marc Gasol of the Memphis Grizzlies.

In an effort to get local children to eat better and have a healthier lifestyle, both Pau and Marc in conjunction with their foundation decided the loser of the ‘competition’ would be forced to shave their beard.

"During the summer of 2013, the Gasol Foundation encouraged children everywhere to stay active, eat well, and engage in a little “healthy competition.”In conjunction with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Coach Pau and his Los Angeles team of kids challenged Coach Marc and his Memphis team of kids to see who could live a healthier summer through physical activity and healthy eating.Lasting from June 10th to August 2nd, this eight-week event was filled with fun physical activity, exercises in sportsmanship and leadership development, and healthy meal planning and preparation."

The battle was tracked by Nike+ Fuel and Pau, despite a fantastic effort, just couldn’t stick with Marc who beat out his older brother 1,352,639 to 1,328,320.
