The San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks have been engaged in an incredible defensive battle. This was a game where everyone needs to buckle up their chin straps and it is not for the faint of heart.

49ers safety Eric Reid delivered a brutal hit to Seahawks wide receiver Sidney Rice over the middle just before the second half and he stayed down motionless for a matter of minutes. It didn’t look good for Reid, but he was able to gather his senses and find a way back to his feet.

He walked off the field under his own power with the medical staff at his side.

Reid was immediately evaluated on the sidelines for a concussion after the big hit. There have been no official injury updates on Reid’s status.

After Rice was walloped, Rice jumped back up to his feet and had a momentary lapse of self control. Rice spun the ball at Reid’s feet and he was immediately flagged under the NFL’s new taunting rule which prohibits spinning the ball at the feet of your opponents.
