Earlier today, it was reported by NFL insider Jay Glazer of Fox Sports that Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder could be out of a job.
After throwing four turnovers in a loss to the Detroit Lions last weekend, Ponder’s leash on the starting job is quite short – more than anybody realizes, this according to Glazer.
Knowing that, Ponder seems intent to have a productive day on the field, at least so far.
After a few beautiful throws (shocking, coming from Ponder, I know), the Vikings quarterback capped off his first half with an impressive trucking of Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs.
As Ponder was running for a first down, the powerful Briggs began to lick his chops at the idea of hitting an incoming quarterback. Only problem? I think Ponder had more of a desire to hit Briggs than Briggs did Ponder.
Powering up his best real-life Madden truck stick, Ponder lowered his elbow and sent Briggs flying to the sideline while Ponder looks relatively unfazed by the whole event.
