The New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers were a few minutes in to their Week 2 match up at Raymond James Stadium, but both teams were sent in to the locker room after lightning was spotted in the area. Like the NFL season-opener, the game has been suspended.

New Orleans is currently ahead 3-0 and there is 10:30 left in the first quarter.

It is never easy for players to warm up and play a few minutes only to have the game brought to a halt. They will need to stay warm in the locker room and make sure that they are ready to go when they are called to return to the field.

There is currently no news on how long the delay will last.

For Josh Freeman, he gets to spend more time in the locker room with his head coach that he’s fallen out of favor with. I’m sure there isn’t much discussing going on.

Action should resume soon, so stay tuned for the restart of the game.
