For all the fun that football brings us, it’s times like these where you remember just how dangerous the sport really is.
Just seconds into the second half between the San Diego Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles, Bolts wide receiver Malcom Floyd was laid out by Eagles linebacker DeMeco Ryans in a frighting collision which saw Floyd take a nasty shoulder to the head.
Floyd was down for a considerable amount of time as the medical staff attended to him before he was strapped to the backboard and taken off the field on the medical cart.
There’s obviously no word yet on what type of injury Floyd suffered, though, one would assume it was a head/neck injury considering the point of impact. Anything past that would be speculation, though, watching Floyd’s neck compress can’t make one feel positive about any diagnosis at this point.
Members of both the Chargers and Eagles gathered for a prayer as Floyd was down. He was talking (minimally) as he was carted off the field.
Hopefully the medical team is just taking precautions with Floyd. Our thoughts here at FanSided are with him.
