Analysts everywhere expect a whole lot of thunder between the physical San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks.  Both teams feature bruising running backs in the Seahawks Marshawn Lynch and the 49ers Frank Gore.  Both feature big, physical skill players and hard hitting defenses.  Heck, even the quarterbacks run the ball with great success for these teams.

In anticipation of the brutal match-up, ticket prices have reached a league-wide high at CenturyLink Field for week 2.  Seattle fans, and I’m assuming a few 49ers fans, have been paying an average of $546 a ticket.  Yikes.

As reported on Saturday, the sellout crowd will be attempting to break the noise record at an outdoor sporting event, even going so far as to have a Guinness World Record official on hand to judge the attempts.

It turns out that’s not all the thunder that might be at this game.  The National Weather Service in the Seattle area is predicting thunderstorms and possibly lightning throughout the evening.  There could be some delays, and it could be a wet, wild contest in the Northwest.

Two teams that are already prepared to hit each other in the mouth might be forced to on Sunday if the storms are bad enough.  Slick balls and wet conditions lead to more rushing traditionally – get ready for the thunder indeed.
