Chicago Bears tight end Martellus Bennett expected to play Week Three
By Bryan Rose
The Chicago Bears have been desperate for a pass catching tight end in recent years and they’ve finally found one in Martellus Bennett. That’s why there was such a grave concern when Bennett hurt himself in Sunday’s win over the Minnesota Vikings, though, it appears all will be okay.
Bennett is known to be a bit excessive in everything that he does, which could stretch into his explanation of injuries in which he suggested he ‘messed up his shoulder pretty bad’ during a second quarter circus catch (you can watch that here).
To add insult to injury (literally), Bennett’s catch, amazing as it was, was out of bounds and he fell (slightly) onto a cameraman who was posted up in the endzone, though the injury seemed more from the hit with the ground than the innocent cameraman.
Bennett left the game for a while before returning and is expected to play in Week Three.
Per Rich Campbell:
"Trestman: Martellus Bennett (right shoulder) is expected to play Sunday"
He might be a bit sore, but, doesn’t appear to be anything lingering, thankfully.
