There was hope when New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola went down with an injury, he’d be able to play relatively soon. That’s looking more and more unlikely.

Amendola was diagnosed with a sports hernia and torn abductors recently and although he was seen at Patriots practice on Monday, he wasn’t moving well at all according to Shalise Young:

"on Amendola: he was out there, but for drills we saw, he wasn’t moving well at all"

Initial reports from the hernia and torn abductors have Amendola out for up to a month and a half, though, Amendola does have an injury history and isn’t known for his speedy recoveries.

Julian Edelman will continue to take his spot in the rotation and should remain one of Tom Brady‘s top targets, though, tight end Aaron Hernandez is likely to return in the next few weeks which should open things up a bit more for the banged up Patriots offense.

Amendola is obviously out for Week Three.
