Oakland Raiders safety Tyvon Branch may have suffered fractured fibula
By Bryan Rose
When it rains, it pours and for the Oakland Raiders, it’s storming outside.
As if the Raiders didn’t have enough problems when healthy, they seemingly can’t catch a break in the trainers room, this time with talented safety Tyvon Branch who sustained a significant injury in yesterday’s win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
How significant? Well, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, likely a fractured fibula which would put a hefty damper onto Branch’s season:
"Oakland S Tyvon Branch suffered what Raiders say is “significant” injury thought to be fractured fibula that will sideline him indefinitely."
The young safety is one of the better in the league and only stands to get better, so the loss is pretty devastating – not only for the Raiders but for Branch, who will see a ton of playing time go by the wayside.
Fractured fibula or not, there’s really no way Branch will see the field for Week Three, so expect to see Usama Young in his spot for the foreseeable future.
