With the 2013-2014 NBA season just around the corner, the Los Angeles Lakers held team workouts on Tuesday according to Mike Trudell on Twitter.

We all know how big of a disappointment last season was for the Lakers after barely making the playoffs and losing the division for the first time since 2004-2007 seasons. .

This season the Lakers have some depth at the point guard position. Both Steve Blake and Steve Nash battled injuries all season but were reportedly doing well during yesterday’s workouts. Nash battled both a leg and hamstring injury and is nearly 100 percent. The 39 year old point guard is slowly reaching the home stretch in his career, so this season has to be all of nothing for the veteran point guard.

Steve Blake was limited to 45 games last season but practiced without restrictions yesterday while working out with the rest of his teammates. With the Lakers adding Jordan Farmar, nobody will have the need to panic if both Blake and Nash go out with injuries.

Jodie Meeks who’s coming off a an ankle injury should be ready for opening night if Kobe Bryant isn’t available to start. Meeks suffered a partially torn ligament in his ankle last season.

As of right now the two starting big men for the Lakers are both Pau Gasol and Jordan Hill. Gasol will pick up the forward spot while Hill looks to keep ahold of the starting center position. Just hope Hill is able to stay healthy this season.
