On the heels of an ugly win over the Titans, the Houston Texans have some less than encouraging news surrounding their top offensive lineman.

Offensive tackle Duane Brown admitted to CSN Houston that he has a “pretty bad case of turf toe”, and that revelation has brought week 3 into question. Houston faces off with the Ravens on Sunday, and losing Brown against the likes of Terrell Suggs would be a devastating blow for the Texans offensive line.

In the same interview with CSN Houston, Brown indicated that he would be a game time decision for the game, making every fear closer to reality for Matt Schaub and company. The 28-year-old Brown is one of the game’s best tackles at this stage in his career, but if he is limited with the toe, things could get out of hand in a hurry.

It would be a pure gut feeling to predict anything on Brown for this week, but I would say that he plays. He played the great majority of the snaps despite the toe issue last week, and even if Brown couldn’t play 100% of the plays, it would be a small surprise to see him on the sidelines out of uniform. If he can’t go, Ryan Harris will be promoted for Houston, but that’s the worst case scenario.
