Adrian Gonzalez will not be in the lineup today for the Los Angeles Dodgers as they continue their series with the Arizona Diamondbacks, according to Dylan Hernandez on Twitter.

Everybody can take a deep breath, it’s only a day off for the left handed slugger. The post-season is slowly starting to close in and this team is going to need their top players rested.

Which is pretty cool because it gives other guys opportunities to get their uniforms dirty, so I expect a few more guys besides Gonzalez to get a day off or two before reaching the post-season. Right now I figure the Los Angeles Dodgers are the team to beat in the National League and could possibly win the World Series.

We’ve all seen how dangerous of a team they were without Matt Kemp, imagine what they’re going to be like now that he’s back with the team? That’s a pretty scary thought. The left handed first baseman has hit 21 home runs and 98 RBI’s with a batting line of .294/.342/.462 through 147 games played this season.

He should be in the lineup in their next game.
