The Pittsburgh Steelers were expected to raise the activity level of injured running back Le’Veon Bell this week, but it was only expected to be minimal.

So it’s quick shocking to see that the Steelers deemed their rookie runner as a ‘full practice participant’ earlier today.

Per Mark Kaboly:

"Le’Veon Bell went through a full practice today for the #Steelers"

The Steelers didn’t hide the fact that Bell was to participate in practice today, though, it wasn’t expected to be full – likely more of an advanced walkthough.

Bell himself admitted that he’s not likely to play in the Steelers’ Week 4 matchup against the Chicago Bears, though, the increase in practice activity is a very positive and relatively unexpected sign.

It still might not get Bell on the field any sooner than his anticipated Week 6 return date, but if Bell can practice for the next few weeks, when he does return he might be able to go full bore rather than be limited for a week or two.

Either way, very positive news for Bell and the Steelers, who’ve had a dreadful running game so far this season.
