New York Jets rookie cornerback Dee Milliner, who was expected to be the man to replace Darrelle Revis, has had his fair share of struggles to start off his professional career and it led to his benching by head coach Rex Ryan during the team’s Week 2 loss.

With the team set to face off against the Buffalo Bills this Sunday, Milliner is expected to begin the game from the sidelines.

The news comes via the New York Post.

However, there was some positive news for Milliner.

Ryan admitted that despite not getting the start, Milliner would be part of the defensive back rotation and see a large number of reps. But without Milliner getting the start, the team will roll with Darris Walls on the outside seeing a majority of the snaps.

It’s not the way that Milliner would have liked to begin his NFL career, but it is party of the growing pains as a young defender in the league. Hopefully for the Jets, Milliner will begin to improve and show that it wasn’t a mistake to take him at the top of the first-round.
