Buffalo Bills at New York Jets final score: Jets defeat Bills and improve to 2-1 on season
By Chris Logel
Not many people predicted the New York Jets would have a 2-1 record after 3 regular season games. I guess that is why they suit up and play the game.
New York beat Buffalo in an AFC East tilt by a score of 27-20 on Sunday afternoon. The game featured a battle between the top two rookie quarterbacks of the most recent NFL draft. Neither quarterback shined but Geno Smith did enough on the day to show that the Jets made the right call in drafting him over E.J. Manuel.
Smith threw for 331 yards on 16 of 29 passing with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions and an 89.9 passer rating. The Jets also out rushed the Bills 182 to 120 yards on the day.
E.J. Manuel struggled all afternoon. he completed less than half of his passes at 19/41 and only managed a 5.9 YPA average.
I am not ready to anoint the J.E.T.S, Jets, Jets, Jets, a playoff team yet, but their fans have to be happy that they have started off this season with the success that they have had. The Jets will take on the also surprising 2-1 Tennessee Titans next week. One of those teams will be in very good position to try to chase down a wildcard berth after that game.
